How to improve our speaking skills?

  • Speaking skills are very important when communicating with others especially when you are using a foreign language. What is the best way to improve speaking and conversation in general in English?
  •  One example that we should try to do it whenever you are communicating with a native speaker. We should listen carefully to the phrases that they mentioned, then copy or repeat it whether with the same person or to others to sound natural.
  • Second one, We have to try to sound like a native English speaker. It is necessary that make the English language part of our daily life and we can see our improvements in no time.
  •  If our hands are full or we don't have a recording device, simply read aloud -- ideally, every day for at least 15 or 20 minutes. We'll get used to speaking for longer periods of time and forming long sentences won't phase you. And We'll run into words we can add to our vocabulary.
  •  We live in such a digital age; even if we think we don't have native speakers at our disposal, we actually do. Scientific American, CBC, BBC and Australia's ABC Radio are great mp3s to get started with, but there's also a million podcasts out there and handfuls of news stations, too. And the best part is that these people generally speak clearly and have pretty generic accents.
  •  Alright, so it's not as good as listening to spoken news/podcasts/etc., but it is good. If we can concentrate on one song a day or so, even bett3er. Just make sure we actively try to understand it. Google the lyrics and sing along!
  •  An integral part of speaking is hearing or listening. Because of this, the easiest way to involve ourselves in a conversation without actually having one is to watch English TV and movies. If we absolutely have to, turn the subtitles on -- but try to resists.
  •  In my opinion, movies are great because we watch them over and over; the more we watch them, the more things we'll pick up. TV is good though, too, because we develop relationships with the characters and we grow accustomed to how they talk and the quirks of their speech.
